What Makes a Suunto Watch Special
When a company begins its life with something as significant as inventing the first successful, portable liquid-filled compass, you can expect that innovation will be pretty important to its future. That was the case with the Finnish company Suunto, whose founder invented that very item back in 1936. Its compasses were vital during WWII, and it's still the supplier of compasses to NATO military forces. Take a momment to browse our collection and look at some of our discount Suunto watch specials.
The Suunto watch was born with the Spyder, a specialized dive computer for the wrist. Its success led to the first digital compass watches in the late '90's. That was the Suunto Vector; the D9, the t6, and so many others followed. (Want to know about Suunto Core military watches? See below.) Of course, most athletes know that a watch alone isn't magically going to give you better speed or more endurance. But it gives you the information about your body and your environment that, when you apply it, can get you closer to your performance goals. And when you just can't help wanting to push yourself and your sport to the next level, that kind of information is really what you need.
Suunto Core Military Watches
Suunto makes two different versions of a military watch. Suunto Core military watches aren't among them. But being the resourceful person that you are, you can make your own seriously soldierly Suunto watch. Here's how to do it:
- Get a Suunto Core black orange watch.
- Get a flat black replacement strap.
- Take the orange strap off and put the black strap on.
- Use the black screws from the orange band, to blend in with the new strap.
- Practice looking fierce, like your new watch.
