Suunto M3 - A racer's dream tool

The M3 cuts through all the niceties and gets down to business. The case and dial are designed explicitly to create an easy to read and utilize package. In the heat of battle on the start line or mark-roundings the M3 provides you the information you need.

The sail timer is the same tried and true unit utilized by the Suunto Regatta. It is upgraded by the ability to customize the following audible warnings. The timer allows for better starts with its audible warning system. It is extremely easy to set up and operate with its user friendly buttons. Each minute of your countdown the timer will emit a beep. Under one minute the timer emits a beep every 10 seconds. In the final 10 seconds of the countdown the M3 will beep on every second so you know it is time to trim in and go. The timer also has one of the most useful features available to a racer. In the starting sequence if you are slow or fast on the timer start, utilize the "closest minute" adjustment as the next horn sounds. It will automatically adjust your timer up or down to the closest minute. It is an absolutely indispensable feature for dealing with the errors a chaotic cockpit can create.

Determining the favored end of the start line and bearing to the next mark are additional features of the M3. The M3 helps you calculate by way of its easy to manipulate bezel (with a turning knob even wet hands can manipulate) along with the incorporation of data from your on boat compass. Be aware, the M3 does not include a compass as part of its package.
