Suunto Regatta - Your Best Friend in the Starting Box

We asked our owner why he loves his Suunto Regatta so much. His answer was concise yet conveys the root of Suunto design philosophy - "its' tough and indispensable".  After nearly 3 years of abuse in PHRF racing his Regatta shows only minimal scratching and wear in spite of the rough treatment it receives and is a necessity during the starting sequence .

The Regatta takes the rugged and durable case of the Vector series and fills it with an electronics package every sailor can love. A built in  compass with cardinal bearing, N/S arrow, bearing tracking, start line bias and a declination setting can help you stay on course and quantify your lifts and headers.

More importantly, the sail timer incorporated into the Regatta is a real gem. The timer allows for better starts with its audible warning system. It is extremely easy to set up and operate with its user friendly buttons. Each minute of your countdown the timer will emit a beep. Under one minute the timer emits a beep every 10 seconds. In the final 10 seconds of the countdown the Regatta will beep on every second so you know it is time to trim in and go. The timer also has one of the most useful features available to a racer. In the starting sequence if you are slow or fast on the timer start, utilize the "closest minute" adjustment as the next horn sounds. It will automatically adjust your timer up or down to the closest minute. It is an absolutely indispensable feature for dealing with the errors a chaotic cockpit can create. Once across the line the Regatta automatically switches to an elapsed time counter so you can track the duration of the race.

The Regatta is water resistant to 100ft/30m, possesses a calendar, dual time, three daily alarms, a stopwatch and countdown timer to round out the features list.
